Algo muy irritante ha ocurrido: no se sabe quién, en la Fiscalía General de la Nación -funcionario o funcionaria que ha merecido el repudio público del Fiscal Mario Iguarán- ha filtrado a los medios de comunicación la carta escrita desde su cautiverio por Ingrid Betancourt a su señora madre, Yolanda Pulecio, misiva que se encontraba entre las pruebas de supervivencia incautadas por el Ejército a los mensajeros de las FARC . La carta apareció publicada en EL TIEMPO de hoy, y fue reproducida en varios medios de comunicación, incluyendo aspectos puramente familiares que han debido permanecer siempre en el ámbito de privacidad de la familia. Entre tanto, a la destinataria de la carta, Yolanda Pulecio, únicamente le entregaron una borrosa e incompleta copia, reteniendo el original los funcionarios de Fiscalía.
Se ha vulnerado así de manera flagrante el derecho a la intimidad (Art. 15 de la Constitución), tanto de Ingrid como de Yolanda, de Astrid -hermana de Ingrid- y de sus hijos, pues a todos ellos se refiere la remitente, convencida de que únicamente sus familiares se enterarían del contenido de lo escrito.
Afortunadamente, el Fiscal Iguarán ha anunciado que adelantará las indagaciones pertinentes, y así localizar a los responsables de la filtración.

No es primera vez que se filtra a través de los medios de comunicación información de carácter íntimo de las personas, o que se violan las comunicaciones, (como el caso de los teléfonos de Petro que se encontraban chuzados y de otras figuras), y en este caso la correspondencia que Ingrid Betancourt, en su lamentable estado envía a su familia como desahogo al prolongado horror en que la mantienen sus captores. Si bien es cierto que a todos nos conmovió y nos interesó conocer y escuchar los textos y que en cierta forma podría considerarse una información de interés general, por razones de carácter social y político, ya que el conflicto armado es nacional y la permanencia de estas personas en cautiverio nos involucra a todos los nacionales e incluso a los no nacionales; quienes han manifestado su interés en colaborar para que se acabe este episodio tan cruel para los Colombianos; no hay derecho a que primero la hayan conocido y transmitido los medios y luego le hagan entrega a la señora Yolanda madre de Ingrid una copia de esta misiva tan íntima, tan familiar, tan dolorosa. Pues era su decisión determinar qué partes hacía conocer y cuales se guardaba en protección a este derecho, que hoy por hoy es casi lo único que nos queda. Es importante y serio que se hagan las investigaciones necesarias para que la o las personas responsables de este atropello contra la intimidad personal y familiar de Ingrid sean sancionadas, que esta familia exija el respeto de este ámbito tan personal, tan intangible, a donde solo se puede permitir la intromisión a juicio del individuo que le concierne.
